i have a feeling the reason they are in sale is they are coming out with a revised version where the dimples don’t show anymore.

Also followed JABCAT's recommendations. I'm happy with the result for the price, it completes the front end nicely.

Update: the center section of my front splitter had a slight bow when installed, and that bow has gotten a little more pronounced since. I sent Aeroflow Dynamics an email with pics, and they're sending me a new splitter free of charge. Excellent customer service.

* they also mentioned side skirts should be available early in the new year.

what do you think caused that? sitting in the sun?

so related discussion the center piece is not really mounted securely enough with oem mounting points and double sided tape. it’s not going to fall off but the plastic is pretty flexible and i can imagine at high speeds it’s actually causing drag bending downwards instead of downforce. i did not add any extra self tap screws but that wouldn’t do anything as it mounts so far back in the splitter

unlike say carbon which is stiff i see this as a major flaw of the splitter. looks good for the price but it’s prob causing more issues. way too much flex in the center. the sides are fine but the center relys on the side for support

i will probably bite the bullet and get a carbon lip.

That’s crazy a $169 front splitter would bow on you like that.

perhaps why the lightweight performance splitter costs so much more, with a more suitable material thats light but solid.

I think it was just like that when I got it. I noticed it when I installed it, but didn't pay much attention to it. I now remember a kid at cars & coffee mentioning it.

I had a similar $150 splitter on my 330e & had no issues with it, but had fitment issues with the BMW M Performance splitter ($700) that was also made of cheap abs plastic.

Most likely not though there are very minor adjustments/play, BUT is it possible that the 2 side pieces were mounted just a tad too close (in mm's) and ended up "pushing" the center piece?

I checked that, doesn't appear to be the case.

Cough "not likely". I do the work (both regular maintenance & modifications) on all my vehicles, and have been for over 30 years. I've had the entire front & rear bumpers off this car already & know how to install a basic abs plastic splitter

I probably was the first one that got this and no issues here. I suggest installing it as recommended. What’s cool is how Aeroflow stands by there product and sent you a replacement.

I didn't think so seeing some of the work, just trying to think what else could cause that. Maybe as simple as a defect from factory. Good luck with the replacement.

I do however wonder how the center piece would behave when in motion.

Received the new splitter & swapped center sections. Putting both side by side on the ground the old center section definitely had a curve up in the center & did not sit flat on the ground. No such bend in the new piece.

Looks great. Interested to see their side skirts.

Good to know they stand behind their product.

IMO, if this was one piece (not 3) and about an inch shorter (protruded less), it would be perfect. That's how the car should have come from the factory.

Just a follow-up to my install, I did not use the additional screws provided as I wanted to see how well the OEM mount + the VHB I relaid would work. It has been ~2 weeks since and I finally noticed a slight separation on my driver's side where it meets the wheel well, maybe 1mm. So I ended up tapping 2 holes (1x each side) and attached the supplied screws. Separation was only on 1 side but decided to do both.

They literally make the install idiot proof. They put dimpled in the underside where all the front supporting screws should go. Super great lip.
