Headrests

What is the reason for the headrests to go up about an inch when you unlock the car and to go down when you open the car door when getting out ?
had a look in the Manual but cannot see anything..

Interested, noticed this as well. My only guess is if you pressed the move seat button for rear passengers to enter, the headrest would hit the ceiling in the up position.

I thought that but then why isn’t that the lowest setting normally. It moves up a bit for no reason.

exactly I have both mine set at the lowest anyway ,they still drop even lower and go back to the lowest position that the adjustment will allow when unlocking the car ...

OP has UK car with M sport seats. The integrated headdress moves up and down electrically and has a reset point with each start-up of the car

Mine is a US spec 25 G87 M2 and my head rest moves up when I shut down and it goes back down once I fire it up.
