Cats on track
Does anyone know or have experience with aftermarket cats when tracking ? Looking at downpipe options and would rather not go catless , but curious how some of the 200 cell offerings hold up?
Will they melt or blowout? Car will stay on 93 octane Cheers |

GESI cates used in the active autowerke downpipes are rated to 950 whp , they will easily handle the track stress
not all brands publish their cats rating, but give how many proven brands are out there and almost zero threads on failed cats, my assumption is that any of the proven brand will do just fine on the track

Thanks for that Mike. Could you pm the proven brands beside active when you have time? I see plenty of options but truly don’t know what’s what

Fabspeed 200cpi use HJS cores - very robust. Miltek also use HJS cores. I’d avoid CPI >300 if wanting reliable DP that won’t melt under high loads/longer durations typical on track days

Fabspeed use HJS cats, Active use the GESI cats, probably the 2 best cats in the world

You have secondaries in the mid pipe too, unless you’ve changed your mid pipe

I really was expecting a story about cats at a track with pictures… one of the most significant bummers of my lifetime.
