r33_RGSport or any others...

Any way to experiment easily between the G80 and G87 maps on the Racechip?

Just a curiousity.

I did not try turning traction off, or turning off MDM and setting the 1 thru 10 traction scale on the low end.

It feels like traction control doing it's job but wanted to see if others have had similar symptoms where there was maybe clutch slippage. I assume that should not be a concern with running those maps. My car is completely stock aside from the racechip.
That is for certain traction control kicking on… put it on level 3 or 4 and it will allow a bit more wheel slip without letting you get squirmy.

I mean you really only have 2 options buy 2 race chips a g80 and g87 or have it reprogrammed after testing the first setup.

I want option 3. The ability to reprogram/flash myself to switch back and forth. Didn’t know if that was somehow possible.

You can switch it back and forth by sending request to whichever reseller you purchase it from.
Just remember, you only get 1 time free reprogramming within 2 years of ownership when purchased new, then $149 per reprogramming.

If you want to reprogram the module yourself, you will need to be investing a lot of money with them to have the tool and access to reprogram, like what I have.

Honestly as soon as you drive with the g80 mapping your not gonna want to set it back to the g87 tuning anyway….The difference is that big and you always can just run one of the lower maps if you want to tone it down.

For those running the G80 tune, are you auto or manual?

Sorry no but I drove it to work today so if I can make a video doing a pull on the way home without dying I’ll get one for you.

Hi everyone, I curious about data-logging the racechip.

Does anyone have experience with OBD data-logging?
I'm curious to see, if you could run map 7 with healthy values for the usual indicators, like timing, throttle position, WGDC, AFR and so on.
My ideas is to identify the highest map for the fuel I use, that has the car still running with healthy values.

I saw the datasheets from racechip's own dyno-testing, they used 102 RON and added 10% ethanol, to reach their top performance figures.
So this clearly tells me, that some timing must be pulled on map 7, maybe to an unhealthy degree.

I got the new 480 PS 2025 M2, unfortunately racechip doesn't have an offer for this model yet.
Also got the MHD Monitor License to do data-logging.

When possible I'll do my own testing and will be happy to share results.
Now I'm mostly curious if anyone did proper logging with the racechip installed.

The race chip does not offer data logging, so if you want to do that, you will need to use a third-party data logger. im not familiar with these products as I would use the Jb4 if I want a tuner that can datalog.

Assuming your clutch is low miles and in good condition I doubt it will slip on map 7. However, it’s going to for sure significantly increase the wear rate. I saw one guy on here with only 600whp and already had clutch slip at 7300 miles. The fact that BMW was concerned enough about it to derate the engine on the manual M2,3 and 4 to protect it says a lot. I guess it depends how well off you are….If you can’t afford to potentially have to replace the clutch early then maybe stick to the lower maps. Obviously a lot of it is how hard you drive it as well. I see a lot of g82\80s on the road being driven slower than I drive my grand Cherokee lol….
