G42 US spec Non HK system upgrade
Hello all, I was wondering if upgrading the amp alone would be a decent upgrade for the non HK speaker system. I believe mine is the Hifi system but I could be wrong (could be base but I wouldn't know since the one I have feels weak either way). Was wondering if the only known amp for a direct swap is the Alpha one Amp or are there other options? And if anyone has done the Alpha one amp upgrade please let me know how that went and if it was worth the upgrade. Thanks. I am also looking into the bav speakers but I wanted to check out amps before doing any speaker upgrades.

Upgrade
I just bought my 24 330i three weeks ago. I hated the base audio system in it, horrible sounding. The Mazda CX-5 system I had in my trade in was superior by a long shot.
I just installed the Alpha one amp, the Bimmertech speakers and subwoofer upgrade. I did the amp first, then the speakers and lastly the subs. The biggest improvement I noticed with the order I did it in was the amp. Huge difference with a caveat. You need to code the ASD sounds for sure. Big difference. Sounded significantly better with even the cheap factory speakers. The speaker upgrades are nice as well, I have not broken in the subs yet but they sound tighter than the boomy factory subs. The speakers have more presence, which was lacking the the factory version. You can get the Audiotech Fischer amp and the harness, which I have used before. You have to tune it or find someone else's tune to get it sounding good. I used it in my 2014 328i. The install was pretty easy, the most work is getting panels off and on and seats out of the way and such. Not very hard but takes some time. The amp took me about an hour start to finish. Hope this info helps. |

Installation
Yes, it comes with instructions that tell what panels to pull off. It was pretty easy. The most difficult step for me was the subwoofers, tight spaces and glued in speakers made it a bit more tricky to complete.
