I make it a practice to avoid running over objects in the roadway but I'd be happy to take a look under there. I just crossed 7,100 mi last night, and no issues as far as it coming loose or noises/vibrations.

Thank you in advance. One thing I was also wondering, is whether you considered adding high-heat rubber or silicone washers to lessen the potential for rattles/noises?

Looks just like the day I installed it (although a little dirty as I drove through rain recently). Didn't need any washers and don't see any reason to worry about rattles or noises.

Besides mounting the screen with the frame towards the oil cooler to increse the mesh distance by a few mm to give more cushioning from large debris and using #8 screws instead of the supplied #6 ones, I also added a couple of zip ties around the cooler support clips to the screen, decreasing any possibility of vibration of the screen over it's span substantially.

Thank you, this is the type of experience/information that I was looking for. If I understand correctly, you simply flipped the screen, and the mounting points remain the exact same?

PS: would love to see further-out photos of the whole setup, to compare with @JABCAT 's photo

Correct. Here is the full view (I did push the end of the rubber dam back on fully after taking the photo):

Around 2mm longer than the Zunsport supplied ones, some I had in my spare nuts, bolts and screws box, so I didn’t buy any specific ones.

As soon as I installed mine, I could tell that there was a possibility of some rattling.

After driving with it on for a bit, I definitely heard it rattle a bit occasionally.

I'll have to do something like this to help get rid of that.

Made a video installing the Zunsport Oil Cooler Guard on my G80 M3, should be a similar process as well here.

I haven’t had any rattling, the zip ties significantly reduce any flexing of the screen between the mounting screws.

Zunsport Inner fenderwell screen protector

Not sure IF this has been written about anywhere, but, Zunsport just sent me the addition of screen products....and that is the screen for the back side of the cooler. BimmerWorld has them and he said selling fast.
Ordered mine today. That makes a total of 8 screens for the M2. Whew...I guess I got them all now.

Little more involved for the installation, but, not beyond most who have some mech. abilities.

There's 6 screens for the M2 shown on their website, where do the other 2 go?

*edit - found the inner fender liner screens listed after the X3M oil cooler screen (which I'm happy they decided to make after I contacted them about it many months ago).

I just installed my Zunsport oil cooler screen. I could not believe that it came from Europe to me in MD 4 days after I ordered it. Took me 1 minute to install it. Its a great quality product without breaking the bank!

Did the same and used #8 screws but 3/4” depth to ensure it was secure. Looks good and added zip ties around support plastic and screen for more support and to secure as was loose otherwise. Great idea for extra support.

I have just receive the guard and installed it. They sent the item so quick.
Have you ever found the oil cooler is not working well particularly in hot summer season?
I tried to bend a bit the rear end so the air can also escape through the gap between the mesh frame and the plastic floor.

With spirited driving in 40C ambient conditions, around 110C is quite a normal oil and coolant temperature. Modern BMWs will typically have oil temperatures above 105C when the car is fully warmed up, no matter what the ambient temperature, due to higher engine operating temperatures to increase overall efficiency and decrease emissions.
