I just don't use it and plan to pay the ticket if I ever get one. Cops in my area won't pull you over unless they are having a bad day or they saw you doing something stupid

I’m going without a front plate for the time being. Of all the options, I think that just putting the stock mount on looks better than the other options. Putting holes in the bumper that will never be seen since they are behind the plate doesn’t seem as bad as low/offset locations and exposed hardware to my eye.

front plate mount

zicmoto.com

Salesman recommended this. I ordered online.

Waiting for delivery of my 240i to try it out. Hopefully end of this week.

Only caution is driving through automatic carwash. Must remove plate or can get caught up in the machinery. They advise removing plate before wash, supposedly easy to do.

If you take your car to an automatic car wash, your number plate going missing is the least of your worries.

Agreed, and also dont go to a touchless wash either. All of it is terrible for your paint.

I installed my sto n sho plate mount today, well reinstalled. The Turner skidplate prevents using the oem mount points because the same points are used to mount the skidplate.

I drilled and tapped the skidplate to 12-24 screw size and widened the holes in the sto n sho plate accordingly. Mounted the bracket to the skidplate using stainless bolts and split lock washers. Might go back under there and apply red loctite too...

In basically the same spot as intended albeit slightly lower abd to the center. No interference with any sensors.

Intent is to run with the plate off 99% of the time and put it on if parking on the street or getting a sticker. If officer asks why I don't have it I will try the forgot to put it back on line

Honestly the euro-sized plates look 10x better than the US ones.

For the G42 it fits perfectly in the space in both the front and rear (giving the car a wider appearance). The US plate size is ugly imo.
