Question on XHP OTS map vs custom maps avail

For those that have a XHP tcu tune on their G42 M240i I’d like to have your honest review .

Xhp offered the standard OTS stage 1&2&3 tune or you can pay additional for a custom XHP TCU tune .

My question is for those that are running Xhp have you guys had good results with ots maps or did you opt for the custom Xhp tune or maybe the custom Sutphin tune .

Looking for feedback positive or negative on this as I’m about to pull the trigger soon on the XHP and trying to decide which way to go .

Appreciate all your comments and advice from those who are running it and can give insight on the reviews and recommendations.

Thank you 🙏

Assuming you're talking about the custom TCU maps I hear good things from the people who bought them floating around, but personally I wouldn't pay for a custom TCU tune unless I FEMTO unlocked the car and performed other performance modifications. I think there are a lot of settings on the stock stage 1-3 maps that you can tweak to get what you want.

If I had added a flex fuel kit and can bus integrated port injection and remapped the engine timings I think a custom TCU tune could probably achieve a smoother shifting experience on the ZF-8HP50.

I would sugggest starting with the xHP maps first and dialing in settings and then going from there.

Currently femto unlocked, on MHD stage 2 93 oct

Went for xhp right away and wasn't too happy with the OTS maps because they were rough and downshifting in sport mode felt laggy (only quick in soort plus or when transmission was in sport also). Reached out to Rod Sutphin about my issues and paid for his custom tune. He also adjusted it for me to perform better in roll races. I think it is a night and day difference compared to the ots maps. Only thing that is gone with the custom tune is the ignition cut is minimized so you won't get that sound anymore compared to the ots maps defaulting ignition cut to on ( I only ran stage 2 and 3 and the ignition cuts were nice to hear sometimg but can get obnoxious if you aren't that into car farts)
