Tire Question
Hey all,
My black m2 is currently in Quality Control. Can anyone explain how it works with what tires I will receive? Is it random? Which ones are the best/worst? Thanks! |

It’s random. Michelin PS4S are best choice. Yokohama would be second best. Third option is Pirelli.

Tirerack.com has an objective test that includes the Michelins and Yokohamas, fitted on a 2024 M2 no less. The results are close, with the PS4S slightly better on a dry track, and the V601 slightly better on the road.
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests...y.jsp?ttid=329 I doubt you would notice much if any difference between the Michelins and Yokohamas on public roads. (I can't speak to the Pirellis though.) I ended up with the Yokohama tires on mine and was disappointed at first, but so far, I can't find any fault with them on public roads (during the break-in period at least.)

Mine was delivered on Pirellis, recently replaced at 10,000kms (6k miles) with Michelin Sport 4's. The Michelin from my POV are a superior tyre in the wet and generally enjoy higher levels of grip in the dry.
The Pirellis are not a bad tyre, just not as good as the Michelin IMHO. |

I kind of disagree. I’ve had all three brands recently. P zero on my g80 m3. PS4 on my g80 m3 Yokohama on my m2 I had three weeks. And p zero on my newest m2. I hate p zero. PS4 all the way for me. But the Yokohama were like driving on cement wheels. I almost thought my car still had shipping blocks installed. Those tires might grip well. I don’t know. But there sidewalls feel like run flats. PS4 P zero (hate em) Yokohama (super stiff ride) And that’s based off proper psi. Not dealer PSI.
