Personally not a fan of the Zunsport look; has anyone installed the Stradale Design oil and/or radiator gaurds? Any thoughts?

Ok take it off and observe the opening. Reinstall and observe the opening. Im not at all sure what you are seeing. Not much protection is the status of it being uncovered. Maybe check your prescription or you failed basic physics lol. It will be deflecting far more than it not being covered. A member posted here he has seen a Zunsport screen survive and protect a deer impact. What more do you want.

All I know it kept almost 99% leaves out so mission accomplished for me. I don't think I want any of this deer impact thing. I rather drive around that. |

Here’s a radical suggestion. Add extra protection if you choose. Otherwise, don’t. Apologize ahead for the extreme idea.

However he mentioned manuals have some protection, curious how much and if I will even need this then? Maybe just the oil cooler guard. |

I have received my M2 g87 about 2 weeks ago. I have already noticed some fins of the oil coolant at the bottom got dented after 1 week of delivery. It occurred after I drove a highway where many trucks and construction workers travel. I have been very careful to keep good distance from front cars especially for RWD cars or trucks. I have zero damage on the front radiators but I had several dents on the radiator at the bottom. I feel like you want to convince yourself to underrate the protection and I was thinking the same as long as I keep good distance from front cars. And I learned I was wrong so I ordered and installed a zunsport guard after I had several dents. I can figure out the tiny rocks and stones did not reach my front radiator but they bounced at front of my car and then hit the underneath radiator. Remember my car was moving at 100km/h towards the direction where the stones bounced to. I don't know how the physics professor can calculate the chances as there are many factors which can't be easily modelled in a computer laboratory. I have driven around 400Kms so far and I think 90% of roads are fine. I would avoid highways where lots of construction trucks travel. Last edited by Apue; 11-11-2024 at 08:45 PM.. |

Tag are you able to update th poll to include MAD? That seems to be the most popular one recently now that it is released and far lower cost than Mishimoto.

I did not rule out the possibility, but rather was providing a scenario where the rock hitting the bottom radiator does happen. (see the rolling odd shape rock part of that post). I definitely was not trying to "underrate" but rather to understand. There were talks about the "tire squeezing rock" to hit the radiator and that was one scenario that I did not quite believe the likelihood. Anyway, really thought this thread was dead! |

Looks like there are a lot of nice pieces for the protection underneath (Meyer Fab one looks really cool).
As far as the lower front openings, I'm surprised that with all the aftermarket replacement pieces for this area, that no one has incorporated a grill of some sort in these pieces. Might make for a cleaner solution. Or, they have and I just haven't been following the latest aftermarket parts... |
