827M wheels painted gray

Has anyone painted a set of 827Ms in a lighter/medium gray color? I like the CSL look but black wheels just don't work for me.. They all look the same (invisible) unless they're in direct sunlight. I've seen silver and gold.. Neither looks as good as the black does (with good lighting) Do painted wheels hold up long term?
