Installed Monaco Motorsport steering wheel

Carbon fiber and perforated leather., heated, keeps the vibration on the steering wheel for driver assist

This is a pretty nice steering wheel - seems like it is the same ones other websites carry for 2x the price. The CF weave is real nice, too. Tricolor stitching is spot on. Installation was easy.

Looks nice, they are not offering other color stripe though. Are you covering the paddle cut-outs?

Yeah the only one I saw was with the tricolor stripe at the 12 o'clock. At least it's not a sticker on the wheel.

Yes, I am gonna get the cut outs. I saw another post they had the part numbers. Gotta go find it.

It's your fault I spent my money on this. LOL

You were correct too, that the quality is very nice indeed.

We gotta get Jabcat back. We gotta do an irresistible mod. LOL

Then again, he did his first so he's already spent his money.

It is a really nice wheel. It's still on sale on Monaco Motorsports' site. They have an advertised coupon code, too. Drops the price to $617.

This is an absolute steal. The custom cf/alcantara wheel for my Z06 was $1,600, still a good chunk of change more than the two wheels for the M2 & X3MC. I have to split mod money between 4 vehicles

I've got a new carbon fiber center console for my Z06 enroute.

OK guys, this time I went after-market and didn't go with the MP one like I did on the F (I really didn't want Alcantara to start with), so saving a few bucks this time.

I was going to get one of the ones posted here but I figured I would risk a purchase on AliE since these all came from China. I found a vendor with some decent rating (MUST(汽摩配) Official Store) but there were plenty of combo so I chatted back & forth for about 30 mins or so. Decided I want the LCI stype with a single blue stripe @ 12, + perforated leather. When I sent him a picture of my current wheel to confirm, they even asked me where the paddles were, when I told them it's 6MT, I was told that a set of covers would be included.

I ordered on 10.27 and it arrived in LA on 11.15, the carrier Cainaio tried to deliver to me at my office on Saturday, and they tried again today, except they did so after office hours and left it at the lobby of a 20-floor office building. So when I got the proof while having dinner, I recognized the pictures were taken at the lobby so I drove back. Luckily one of the cleaning crew brought it up to the front desk of my floor.

All told, this is what $492 bought.

Is your G87 optioned with heated steering wheel? If so does this retain the physical button somewhere?

Yes, it is between the 6 & 9 o'clock spokes.

Thanks, that's about on par with the ones I have seen state-side, didn't see anything out of the ordinary so far. Save for the courier experience, I am happy with it (don't think it would be a problem had it been delivered to a residence).

I think I need to extend the vibrator wires on this due to the relocation (it came with a length of patch wire + new molded enclosure).

Just a quick note for those who want to go with the after-market LCI style, the vibration motor is relocated from the left 6 o'clock spoke to the bottom, which means the pre-LCI wiring for the motor is short by ~ an inch to 2. While the store provided a length of patch wire and heat shrink, it also meant the need to cut and solder.

I have only seen one place supplying a true extension with proper connectors, that's the one from IAW used by 'BMW DIY Guy'.

I generally do not like to cut & splice factory wiring so I inquired at IAW, they wanted $99 for that pigtail since I didn't buy the wheel set from them, but their wheel is also over $300 more.

I then asked the original Ali vendor and they said they have a proper extension with connectors in a week or so, assuming nothing was lost in translation, that would probably be a reasonable source. I will update this when it comes through. Good thing I am too busy to swap at the moment.

Below is what came with mine, a new casing to mount the motor and a piece of patch wire.

Curious to hear how the heat works out and nothing breaks after a few months.
