I need to rebuild my 318is motor with 245k miles. Located in Chico, CA., 100miles north of Sacramento, CA. Any recommendations? Thank you.

DIY. M42 is not a complex engine. Good luck with it.

Not sure if the classic BMW engine rebuilders are still around. The ones that advertised in Roundel and the old BIMMER magazines. Just order an engine from them. It was common practice back in the day of the E30 M42.
