Anybody got their radar mounted without a blend mount?
I have a Uniden R8 and Blendmount and mirror wire tap. I have yet to install it because it hangs so dang low in my FoV using the blend mount.
Anybody rocking suction cups way up high and to the right of the mirror? Or something similar?

Not a radar detector but I have my dash cam mounted up high on the right side of the mirror via suction cup. I don't even notice it from the driver's seat, but I'd guess you want to see the radar detector in your periphery.

It puts the radar right along the roof at the top of the window. It’s placement hides the power tap wire and you can flip the passenger visor down and hide it from view if a cop pulls you over. https://www.ebay.com/itm/11552856253...Bk9SR5zh9vrqZA

Have you had that through a hot summer? Wonder if the adhesion would hold up to a Las Vegas summer where in car temperatures reach 130 f And I wonder if needed , would it be possible to remove the adhesive from the windshield tint |

It would most likely pull front window tint off if you tried to remove it. I had a garmin dash cam on my rear tinted window and it’s less strong double sided tape pulled my tint up when I moved it. My front window isn’t tinted so it’s not a problem for me. That tape is super strong. Might be stronger than any other doubled sided tape I’ve ever used. You could also get a visor clip for radars. You can use the visor or just tuck the u clip part under your roof liner. I find this type moves around a little vs the tape on mount. So I use the tape on version. https://www.ebay.com/itm/28452190995...mis&media=COPY

I read here on the forum, that using a blend mount doesn’t have enough power to use the r8. Like 12v is required to power but blend mount is only 8v something like that.
Also can you use a blend mount even if you don’t have the garage opener package? |

You need to run the wire tap wires to the wiring in the rear view mirror. And I'm pretty sure people have R8s hard wired to their mirrors. Maybe the radar / dashcam combo required more power ? And I'm pretty sure even the non-homelink rear view mirrors still have wiring inside |
