Homelink rear view mirror retrofit help

Purchased a 23 BMW G87 few weeks ago. Absolutely love this car.
One thing I really need is the homelink garage door opener. So I went and purchased from eBay the rearview mirror with homelink garage opener for my car.
Does anyone know if it needs any coding to work ? I made sure I purchased the same mirror as my stock one with ekectrochromatic dimming. The only difference is the new one has three buttons on the bottom for the garage door opener.
Has onyine done this before ?
Do I need any coding ?
Can anyone assist ?
