Muting PDC with a tow hitch bike rack

Figured I'd cast a wider net here than just the X7 section.

Is there a way to mute the Park Distance Control when parking/reversing with a hitch mounted bike rack attached?

I just traded in my 2018 Suburban and picked up a 2022 X7 with tow package. I'll be doing a bit of towing, but will mostly have my 4-bike Saris SuperClamp EX hitch mounted bike rack on it.

My Suburban had smart enough logic to figure out there's a bike rack on it, and then muted the reverse sensors automatically the second time you would back out with the rack attached. No such smarts on the X7, apparently. It just blares the PDC warning thinking I'm about to hit something, which is very annoying.

I can't find a setting to mute it. All I can do is turn the volume down, which is better but still pretty annoying. Is this something that can be coded? Or is there maybe a dummy electrical plug you could plug into the trailer wiring connector that can help?

Thanks

no.. you activate trailer mode when rack is hooked up ( pdc will be deactivated) and you deacivate trailer mode when rack is not installed ( pdc will be active)

Had the rack back on again, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the Trailer Mode feature persists, so you don't have to keep activating it every time you start the car with the bike rack hooked up. Problem solved, thanks!
