285 vs 295 vs 305 rear tires?
Anyone gone up to 295 or 305 on the rear tires on the OEM wheels?
I was told I can do up to 305, but that seems too wide to me… Will adding wider than OEM in the rear affect handling keeping the 275’s in front? My rears are due to replace soon so looking for anyone’s experience. |

A 10.5" rim is within the recommended width for a Continental 305/30-20 tire. Best to check with the manufacturer on suggested size.

Yes, you can run a 305/30/20 Michelin on a 10.5" wheel ( recommended wheel size is 10.5 to 11.5 ) but it will look a tad bit stretched and you might loose a bit of the sidewall protection.

Not to mention the mismatch between the front and rear. The overall diameter changes from 26.8" to 27.2". You moved beyond the .3" tolerable level that most stability control can handle. The 295 is a much better fit.

I would like to eventually go to 285/35/19 on a 10" wheel up front and 305/30/20 on a 11" rear wheel. Is it OK to do this? Will it mess anything up with the car (stability wise)? |
