Great road trip machine that has plenty of power with the supercharged V6, great timeless design, and plenty of luxurious features. Ours has the luxury package among other things, so massage seats is a nice bonus. After we get rid of it we will be getting probably a G05, since the GLE/Q7 really aren’t appealing, and the Cayenne is not worth it in base form.. I will say Genesis makes a pretty good SUV, I just can’t get over the price
I had a 2018 and now a 2022, not sure how it has "horrible reliability". I've had no issues just like my 2018. Also, not sure what you mean about the quality decreasing. It's largely the same vehicle just a refresh on the interior and slight exterior tweaks. Interior feels the same from a quality perspective to me (yes there are screens vs the old tactile knobs for the hvac, but that's it).

The amount of issues I’ve seen on the newer Audis with the 48V hybrid system is outrageous.. also, the quality on the Q7’s is fine, I’m talking about their new models such as on the E-Tron family.

My 22 is a turbo V6 (no mild hybrid). The newer models have cheapened on their materials for sure, but then again so have BMW with each new model (more hard plastics, de-contenting, etc.) It really sucks. It's funny because the mainline brands like Mazda and Hyundai/Kia are putting much nicer materials in their vehicles and it's starting to blur the lines of what "premium" really is.

Well makes sense why yours hasn’t had any issues, though the V6 22’ Q7 did have a mild hybrid. In any event, Definitely concur with what you said about “premium” vehicles. Would buy a Mazda, wouldn’t buy a Kia or Hyundai.. I will say Porsche is the only German car maker I find makes high quality feeling vehicles anymore. Even base models despite not having leather everywhere still feel extremely well built like Mercedes, BMW’s, and Audis were 15+ years ago

So it ended up selling from under me. I had them down to $18,800 + $3,500 for a 2yr comprehensive warranty if I wanted it. I kept asking them to supply the brake depth measurements and if decent I would buy it but they never supplied it and the car sold. Apparently a brake job is close to $3k for the Q7

If you DIY the brakes are not any more difficult on the MLBevo than they are on any other German midsize SUV. Fronts are downright easy.
