It's the button you press when you want to lose a street race to a Prius

I pressed it once while driving.

Unless gas gets up to $7 a gallon ..... I'm never pressing it again

Are you guys in the “I hate moonroofs” camp, too?

I understand eco doesn’t provide performance, but at 6:30 AM driving in a straight line for 45 minutes with a hot cup of coffee, I’ll take the pint(s) of fuel savings. I am not using the sport performance so the drive mode is irrelevant. Not looking to turn this into another eco vs sport thread, but stop hating on eco, it has a purpose.

I guess ECO must have its uses for some ,i would guess like you describe straight line 45mins ideal for you,,,,I do a lot of stop start town driving and I use comfort most of the time ,I have the STUPID stop/start disabled with bimmercode also.(best mod so far ).....i feel the car is a bit lethargic in pedal response even in comfort for lots of roundabouts and junctions as it is god knows how bad that would be in ECO...may look into a pedal box to sort that ,had one on my last 240i was a major improvement.(by moonroof im guessing you mean as we would call in the UK a sun roof )

Only joking about Eco. I don't hate anything about our G42.

I could see myself using ECO on a road trip.

On my usual around town driving I am way too worked up and caffeinated to use anything besides Sport and Sport Plus. The car is just too much fun to drive. Especially the way it sounds with the AA Downpipe.

And I love having a sunroof. I keep it in vent position at all times .... even during the cold winter.

Cold Winter? You live in Vegas. It's not cold until you at least have snow on the ground. Lol. Headed down there tomorrow. If you see a thundernight M240IX wave. I will use Eco on the highway. Can get over 40mpg in Eco mode.

Hey when it's 40 degrees out and I have to put on a hoodie , we're really suffering over here.

Are you staying on the strip? I might come down and try to race you , in Sport Plus Mode

Only kidding of course - enjoy your stay!

It’s also a handy default if you’re running summer tyres in a cool (5-8C) damp winter - all too easy to break traction if you’re just pootling about town. Plenty fast enough in Eco for cramped urban driving, and with Fuse 203 pulled you get most of the noise you want anyway….

As an aside, pulling 203 does NOT disable ASD in my experience. In all modes, switching the exhaust button on/green adds a bass boom & some upshift fartiness, but doesn’t alter the external sound.

Something else I’ve noticed is that if you have ASD off and flip into M1/M2 mode, it lights up again - manually switching it off turns the M1/2 display icon off, even though all the drive setting remain the same.

Every day’s a school day

I've compared Eco and Comfort on my 45 min - 1 hour drive to work and there isn't an observable difference. I'm guessing it's noticeable when you're on long highway road trips or something.
