Why does my car Bluetooth kick off my Bluetooth speaker and iPhone?

So last night, I’m working in the garage installing my Zunport grill and mega Chip splash guards listening to music through a Bluetooth speaker playing Spotify through my iPhone, and then all of a sudden my car takes over the signal and starts playing music through the car stereo.

I go back to my phone and switch it back to the Bluetooth speaker, which works for a while, and then the car takes over again.

Then, I got a phone call, I tried to answer with the phone, and the call went through the car.

The car was shut off. I wasn’t in it.

This is annoying. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can prevent this?

Not sure of Android or iPhone; but you need to set order of priority for connection.

Go to settings>bluetooth>your car>disconnect.

Occurs to me every time I wash the car as it automatically connects to Bluetooth.

I solved this by not activating the remote speaker/bluetooth combo until the car and iDrive are turned off fully/silent.

Try leaving the key far away from the car. Having key near the car turns on some systems. Used to happen with my X3. Left key in house. No more problem.
