Why can't BMW make nice looking cars like this again.

I would agree...

update loving the new head unit, as it's an updated version with car play and bluetooth that looks oem, however that being said the sound isn't that great, I'm in the process of getting a 12 volt installer to adjust some of the unit to get better sound out of the system.

a couple more updates, super happy with the oem look and stance however wanted to really go period correct and I believe the holy grail of wheels would be the Alpina Softline's in 20's or the BBS LM's.....

I decided to go with the BBS LM's a classic wheel that you could still buy brand new. I love the Alpina's but the wheels have been discountinued and hard to find.

Here is a massive photo dumb of the BBS LM's in 20's in Diamond Silver.

Michelins Pilot Super Sport 4's arrived

Time to get them on

An older rare set of lugs with BBS Stamped on them.

I'll have more shortly.....hope you are enjoying this thread. I'm loving this car!

E38 740i is perhaps the greatest looking of the line ever. It’s one of the absolute best proportioned designs. There’s visual and mathematical elegance to it, BMW have not been able to achieve since. I love seeing folks care for these as they very much deserve to be loved.

Throttle House once agreed with this sentiment, though they did suggest that the shorty wasn’t the better version, for the reason that “ladies love the long wheel base”, and they were sure of this fact because they had consulted the scholarly gentlemen of Bimmerpost to confirm the same.

INSANELY-MADDDDD-AWESOME! The E38 740i Sport has some of the BEST BODY LINES to ever be sculpted on a BMW!

Wow!!

Epic build. Love how clean the body lines are and the LM's just sets it off enough for those who know, know. I need to come see this thing in person soon.

The E38 and E39 will forever be a timeless design for BMW.

I love everything about restoring this car to its former glory +. Only thing that spoils it a little for me are the enormous bbs rims, I really liked those original parallel rims with fat sidewalls. May be Alpina wheels would be my choice if I wanted to go for larger wheels, yet if wheels is how we make cars personal to us, all is good.

Enjoy the car, before you buy something else that will be your new project.
