If it isn’t going to see track time, then neither the M2CS or M3CS is likely worth the extra cost from a driving perspective. |

I see from the X drive thread, it appears to be suggested later non-CS models will get 520-530 bhp, hence other than a boot spoiler I’m just not seeing the benefit of the CS? I get your point about suspension tuning etc, but as you say, it seems pretty moot unless you're tracking the car. |

I don't understand you guys. This isn't the first G8x CS so nothing should be a surprise for what you're getting.
It's going to have some cosmetics. Maybe some lightweight parts increased power, remapped suspension and differential and upgraded suspension. I think also slightly different seats or they're the same but has a CS logo. All it takes is looking at the M3/4 and see what the difference is. The CS isn't the pinnacle, the CSL is and that's probably not happening on the G87. You're debating whether it's worth it or what you're getting when it's not even a question or a mystery. |

If there is no CSL, then the CS should be the pinnacle of the G87 platform?
The G8X CS was a good 25 bhp up on the comp models; it was an attainable halo product in the way the CSL simply wasn’t. Whereas here it looks like it gets the same power as the x-drive models. If that’s correct, I don’t think your comparison works. As I suggested, it looks like the CS is outgunned and outdated before it’s even launched. We’re only a couple of years into the platform, and we’ve already had Pre LCI, LCI, CS, X Drive derivatives confirmed, with each looking to make the previous one marginally obsolete. Agreed, BMW could pull it out of the bag when it’s announced in a few months’ time, but given how incremental they are playing it, potentially saving stuff for future models, I’m sceptical. |

All my points are valid. This is the same thing as the M3/4. What are you still going on about it being obsolete when it's already been stated it will have a bunch of hardware not on the other trims.
You're hyper focus on the power doesn't make sense. Clearly it's not for you. Just wait for the xdrive and the bump in power. Why do you keep dismissing all the other stuff on it besides the power? Why even say you put your name down then start saying it's not worth it lol. I agree though, I don't think it's worth $35k more for what you get. I really don't see you getting this if you're complaining about what it offers. Maybe you need to read this and see what the CS will probably have over the base. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...w-m4-cs-drive/ Last edited by curtdragon; 12-08-2024 at 09:57 AM.. |

I’m not hyper focussed on power, but it seems a strange decision for BMW to make. I’m not suggesting the CS won’t be great, but that it will be overshadowed by the X drive within days of it ending production.
The X drive doesn’t appeal at all, and I’ll still get the CS, but I expected something more akin to the M4 CS that was a little more special as compared to other models in the line-up. That article you linked to concludes that the minor upgrades to suspension etc are so wafer thin so as not to be worth it. At least the M4 CS had additional power to justify the cost and badge, it looks like the G87 won’t. |

Not focused on power then clearly states that the only upgrades are minor suspension and power lol.
A whole carbon kit: hood, trunk, lip, sideskirts, diffuser Standard carbon seats Front/rear anti roll bars Suspension bushings Probably upgraded wheels Titanium exhaust TCU/Diff/Suspension electronic tune Engine brace +50 hp But again you're complaining it will be invalid because the xdrive that you said you don't want will have more or the same power 😆😆 Talk about crying over spilled milk before the cow is even born. What's ironic as well is the xdrive is superior in every way except for the added weight. Better overall traction and if you want to do rwd stuff you put it in 2WD mode Last edited by curtdragon; 12-08-2024 at 11:45 AM.. |

The article you linked to concluded the stuff you listed was so wafer thin that is wasn’t worth the premium!
All I’m saying is that it would be nice if the M2 CS had the same list of halo features as the M4 CS, this includes a power bump not available elsewhere in the model range. |

Couple thoughts:
--An M3 CS just powered past a Porsche GT3 in one comparison. --That car is far more than the sum of its parts. Same with the F87 CS. It was a special car. --We all know that when BMW says "525" hp, the car will have 545-550 on the dyno. --AWD will be amazing and perfect for some drivers. I've driven cars like the G8X. They are wicked fast. But the lighter rear wheel drive BMWs have a nimble feeling like few other cars, and that's what I'm looking for. Hoping that as #2 in my dealer's waiting list I actually get one. |

Again you keep focusing on power lol. Then say you're not then proceed to complain about the power. It has a ton of stuff that isn't on the base including power and it will be the top when it's out. Who tf cares if it will have more later? It's like people with a 2023 crying because they added more power to the 2025. They've been doing this forever. You sound like the guy who would complain the guy sitting next to you has five shrimp and you have four. But you also have a whole steak vs none lol They say you can't fix certain things... I concede no need to respond 😆 |

Can’t wait for more info! This is the one car I’m betting on to tempt me out of my beloved 20’ M4 comp…

Yellow DRL plus red grille border plus orange reflectors is heinous looking lol
Obviously fixable but a lot will be "purists" about it if that ends up being the design.
