MSRP increase 1/1/25?

Was negotiating an order a couple days ago and my dealer advised that BMW in the US is increasing MSRP in January 2025 and because they don't have an allocation right now (but are confident they will in January) that the base MSRP of a g87 m2 will be $600 higher when my order is placed. They are willing to negotiate off this price but still, I wanted to fact check this with those in the know.

Google has shown an announced mid-year increase in India but nothing in the US. I found a post from 22 about 1/1/23 increases but I would have thought this would be in the public domain if known....

Related to this - if there is a price increase: for what orders does it take effect? Only those received after the increase date? All cars not yet delivered by this date? Not yet produced? Etc. The dealer is saying that (ignoring their markup margin THEY will pay BMW $600 more for a Janaury build slot. True?

BMW typically will honor original prices if you have an allocation, no matter when the car is built. My i4 was built a year late and there was a price increase on both the base and some options. They had the dealer honor original contract price.

You don't actually have an order until you have an allocation and order number.

Confirmed. Price increase takes effect in U.S. January 1 for all models, equal to 1% of base MSRP. Assume it would be for vehicles completing production after that date, though bulletin didn't specify IIRC.

If you already have a production number before that date, when the car is delivered ask the dealer to call BMW to honor original price.

Yeah, so think if you have a production number prior to this date (me) the price should be what they were when the allocation or production date was achieved but ai say this for selfish reasons lol.
