Clunk After Lowering G42
Any thoughts what this rattle/clunk is on what sounds like the front right of my G42? Had a highly recommended shop install my Dähler lowering springs. It's pretty mild, only 1 inch. Springs were Installed on Friday and this clunk/rattle developed shortly before I got home today Monday after driving quite a bit this weekend. Now, it's persistent and happens on all bumps and when I jump on the driver door lol. I pushed and pulled on everything I could and the only thing making any noise at all while under the car seems to be the wheel/axel when rotated but it seems within norms from what I can tell on the internet. Checked bolts up at the strut mount as well and nothing seems loose. Thoughts?

Actually, not fixed. Sound returned.
Going to explore if it’s related to this: SIB 32 01 23 CRACKING/CREAKING NOISE FROM FRONT AXLE/STEERING SYSTEM Need to verify which power steering system I have… TKPS or JTEK EPS. I can feel the “noise” in the steering wheel now. Also going to verify brake bolts etc. All suspension related bolts have been checked and double checked. To include a full alignment. |

Following. Very similar issue happened with mine after installing H&R springs. The clunk noise first started on turns at very low speeds <10mph and when driving off of a complete stop. No noise when going over bumps or cruising. Taking it back to the installer to get an inspection in a couple of days. Will try avoid driving on it for now.

Are they the H&R adjustable or just fixed springs? |

I get a seemingly similar but less loud or frequent noise after lowering on dinan springs, It's most likely to happen when I drive over a uneven spot in the road, has me thinking I need to find adjustable end links for the sway bar to fix preload.
I have no clunk over dips or speedbumps, just small cracks/potholes in the road and it's not consistent.

I mean, its nothing to do with the springs... its either the install or the end links. But dont let me make you think this clunk is happening all the time. Its on maybe 1 in 50 to 1 in 100 bumps and its not as loud as the video.

Update if you figure out what fixes it. I'll probably do the same if I start hearing it.
