I've had my G87 for three weeks now, I set the M1 button a few days after collecting the car, made sure it was a step up from the "Efficient" but not too much of a carefree/bonkers setting as this is my first ///M car. The settings I've added to the M1 button seem to be about right for the roads and journeys that I do here.

The M2 button will be set in the spring for when the weather dries up/warms up.

My M1 and M2 buttons defaulted to factory settings after the update, which deactivated the auto-rev match.

So I am out driving and the first time I go to downshift, not knowing the car isn't going to blip the throttle, I immediately let the clutch out and the car locks the rears and the rear end started to step out. It sorted itself out quickly but I was not prepared for that behavior.

Lesson learned, be careful about iDrive updates changing your M1 and M2 settings.
Were you going around a turn or going fast?

Probably about 45 coming up to a curve that I was slowing down for. It was exciting for sure.

Yeah I was curious. I had a "high powered" BRZ. It had rev matching in the tune so I'm trying to see if I remember having any issues like that. But good to know for the future.

When the M buttons aren't set what's the default? Is it blank?

M2 is kill/fun mode. Engine Sport +, traction control to 3, trans in D3, sport suspension. To be fair I'm here most time after warm up.

M1 is just engine in sport, rest comfort. Gets a little volume and fun cruising or warming up.

The default M settings aren’t blank, I’m not at my car but they are populated. It’s easy to reset to the default too, if need be.
