M240i xDrive 600 whp?
I’m coming out of a heavily modified 392 Challenger making 671 rwhp.
I’m going to order a 2025 M240i xDrive. About 600 to the wheels will keep me at the same power to weight ratio I had before, only with AWD, which would be awesome. Can I achieve that with a tune, intake and exhaust components, or would that require something more like a turbo pulley? I want to also keep it reliable and with good road manners for long trips and such. Also, normal 93 octane pump gas. Thanks for any input! |

Then guess what? Need to ship your DME off to Finland again to have it unlocked and be able to flash the tune again. |

The last 2 OTA updates did nothing noticeable, and its been quite a while since there was one. I'm guessing we are going to see one last update soonish and then they probably stop sending out any updates anyway.
Getting the ECU unlocked in Finland; you ship it on a Monday and you'll have it back in your hands Friday. Its not really that big a deal... so long as you only have to do it once. It would ruin my mood for a month if I accidently updated/locked it and had to send it out a second time though. But lets circle back for a second... WTF is a turbo pulley?? |

I put a turbo pulley on my brother's stock b7 rs4 and it really increased the power a ton. After we did that we decided to tackle the water to water charge cooler and the valve coilovers.

Whoosh? lol
(In case even more explanation is needed, literally everything I wrote is fake stuff, but my brother does have a clean AF 70k mile RS4 that is very fun) Last edited by IanH; 10-01-2024 at 08:47 AM.. |

I talked to a BMW speed shop, and he recommended I go with a new M2. I asked him about the last gen, and (according to him) there's a $4000 upgrade you have to do so it can handle the additional torque. |

Basically, the only way I could revert to stock so the dealer could reprogram my head unit was for protuning freaks to remote in and do their thing. |

Has BM3 posted any specific info about this, or did they just start including it ? I haven't visited the Femto or BM3 websites in a while |

To my knowledge, the blocking feature has only recently been introduced, at least since my experience in May of this year. Unfortunately, I learned about the blocking feature during a conversation on AnyDesk when they did the remote-in procedure, so I don't have any proof of that discussion. However, the dealer notes indicate that my tune blocked the reprogramming, which I will attach.

Amazing. The techs knew exactly what was going on every step of the way.
And just curious - was this all paid for out of pocket ? I can't imagine the dealership going ahead with any warranty work once they saw you had a locked tuned DME ? Or did they maintain the other parts of your warranty ? |

Now, I’m just waiting for my DME to get back to me so I can install these parts along with a custom tune by Sameh. I'll attach dealer notes from last Friday showing that my warranty is still good. Even on the MyBMW app, everything is green for three more years. |

Wow, your dealership must love you.
I've had dealerships repair things under warranty that had been completely modified . But that was after handshaking my service manager a few hundred bucks. |
