E90 eps error when replacing cas
Hi Everyone,
I have been a passive content consumer here for years and have always found answers to most of the queries I had regarding my BMW. This time, I am stuck in a very unique situation and need some advice and direction. I have an E90, 2012 model, which I’ve driven for around 75,000 KMs. I’ve loved this vehicle and still do. Three years ago, the EPS developed a problem, and I replaced it with a used part. The EPS has been working well—just a little heavier—but I’ve been fine with it. A month ago, the CAS module gave up. I ordered a new one through the authorized dealer, which took a month to reach India. However, during the installation, the process isn’t moving ahead and is asking for the EPS to be changed. (Attaching screenshot.) The authorized dealer is, of course, advising me to replace the EPS with a new one, but I am in no mood to do that as the cost of a new one is exorbitant. I have never done major coding myself, except for some minor coding for features using BimmerCode. Has anyone faced such issues and resolved them? I’d appreciate as many points of view as possible. I am in India |
