Mobile/BT/Apple Car Play - unable to maintain an in-car connection?
Have you've tried all the usual suspects you've read about...?

Then try this......... REMOVE any flashdrive with music on it that you may have installed in the USB socket in the centre console (the one next to the phone charging tray)...... Now re-try your connection....it might just work! Theory? My understanding is that from a cold start, the car's on board systems prioritise reading & indexing music files on the flashdrive over it's requirement to connect to a mobile phone. Even after a full manual connection, it would sometimes just drop the connection. Mine would sometimes auto re-connect an hour or so after shutdown, because the vehicle was holding the flashdrive data in its memory, next day...no phone connection! My flashdrive had less than the BMW recommended 16,000 files....but it still compromised the phone connection..... I'll revisit this post when I've worked out how many files it will work with...so this is a WIP still... |
