Quadrofoglio I'm guessing? No MT option there, that's one reason to stick with the G80 (or CT4V Blackwing) if you're into that sort of thing, and I'm sure BMW interior materials are STILL better than Cadillac's despite years of complaints against the caddy. They just can't seem to get it.

I hated both the G80 and the F90. Too big, bulky and heavy. The F10 was that too but it did not break your ribs pretending to be a sports car like the F90 does, hence why the M550 is actually the equivalent to the F10 M5, .ie a proper GT car and not a frankenstein that is neither a GT, nor a family car, nor a sports car.

Not a BMW but speaking of nostalgia and not making 'em like they used to, Jason Cammisa's latest video has an excellent retrospective on the Land Cruiser:

I've had the M5, M6 and M8... The one thing that I feel has slipped a bit is the interior. It's just not as nice as other competitors. Handling, ride quality, overall power is great. Their new body styling and interior materials not so much.

Here's the rub: in the real world, there are other factors. Alfa dealers close from time to time - they've lost quite a few in the last couple of years. Stellantis is a train wreck. We're talking about a brand that left the US for 20 years, and now that they're back - at least for the moment - they're struggling to sell cars. Parts can be a nightmare. There's one dealer in my city - if they close, owners are 2 hours away from the next. Hardly any indies will touch an Alfa around here, and cost of a two hour tow is prohibitive out of warranty. IMO Alfa's are emotional decisions. BMWs are rational decisions with enough performance to keep things interesting. As far as old vs. new, my benchmark is a 1985 535is manual, so I'll keep my opinions to myself. |
