What's the TDS of your water?
Ordered a TDS meter to check my water, trying to figure out how much DI I'll need.
My tap water came back at 273. I was seeing people saying their TDS was like, in the 50s on their city water, so I was a bit surprised to say the least. Going to be investing in a DI system for sure to try to get spot free finish, but had me curious just how bad our water actually is. |

I'm in LA and my TDS is about 150. I have prefilters for carbon and sediment which gets you a little more efficiency. I change my resin about once a year, using only DI for final rinse while washing every or every other weekend. You'll likely have to change it closer to every 6 months or so.
Your best option is RO/DI with tanks but if you don't have a self priming pressure washer like a Kranzle, you'll need a pump. Gets more complicated as not all pressure washers play well with pumps. |

I have 180 city water treated in a softener still … city water as a whole is harder water … but wash inside out of the sun so not a big issue i believe. Good luck

Bought this just after Xmas.It has a carbon pre filter followed by 2 resin and also has a built in TDS meter. The filter can be by passed using the fitted valves on either side.Only used it once but it’s taken my ppm down from 70 to 0.
I only use the filter stage for the final rinse so should last well over 12 months. Last edited by Clarkie52; 01-17-2025 at 08:10 AM.. |
