X5 F-15 TMPS RDC fix $35 5 minutes fix

I had a problem with Warning light on TPMS failure. It would work and then fail later.

I bot a new RDC from EBAY for $35. I opened the rear right hatch and if you look up, there is the RDC and you can see the control wires fitting plugged into it. I didn't know how to remove the fitting so after wiggling it, I grabbed it and pushed down on the back and it broke loose the screw so it came out. I then saw that small hole on fitting and used a pick to release it. I then put the fitting in the new RDC that is almost the exact same number. Lo and behold I turned on car and it went thru the reset did not stop at 49% and at 80% the warning light went out!!!!! I drove car and the wheels air pressure were measured. You dont need to pull the old one out, just attach the new one to something. I will try to put it back but not concerned. So using a pick in the small hole on the wire fitting will release it. Tire store want $450 to put in new TPM sensors and BMW dealer wanted $1100. Again just remove the back right storage. No need to open anything else.

I will add pictures later. I did not need to register the new RDC
