How is the Griot's Foaming Surface Wash? Do you use it as a pre-wash? Or normal soap during regular washes?

I don;t normally buy Adam's, but their iron remover gallon was on sale for $50 with a free 16oz bottle added plus $10 off so $40 total for 144oz; it's a killer deal. Normally I buy Griot's (and I think it's a bit better), but it's $80, by comparison (for 128oz).

Thanks for that, just ordered the Graphene Ceramic coating collection and the essential kit - saved over 100.

Just got back to the forum after being away a long time, looking forward to pampering a BMW again.

I'm a big fan of the foaming surface wash - good sud thickness etc. I use it as a regular wash soap and 95% of the time I perform a contact/agitation wash after letting it dwell. IMO that is the only way to remove 99% of dirt & grime.

Been using www.AmericanDetailerGarage.com for many years. Only products I use now. I used to drive an entertainer coach for rock bands and we used this to product test. Easy products to use made by someone who cares.

Check them out.

Tell them I sent you.

Some feel there is not enough differentiation between their products & that there are better products for the money. I've been happy with the few I've used.

As new to the detail word it can be very overwhelming when on a quest to protect your car or cars and not screw up . Very overwhelming the more I learned the more every supplier and paid used swore they were correct … bmw just example said only use soap and water but we have this matte black nano wax we can sell you it’s wave after wave but there are also good people who test products and share there product testing which helps a lot .
One product tester I started watching was Jimbo’s car detailing and his products and his approach which is products he had hand in making and his reasons … his foam soap is better then any others I tried and I bought to many . His hard as shell ceramic spray was a great entry into ceramic protection and very easy to use on gloss and frozen paint . But what worked was jimbos detailing gave a crap enough to answer my questions … I had frozen black paint I needed protected screwing up the color or finish was not a option per his advice I went slow with the product and he kept assuring me I would be ok and like the result and jimbo was spot on right his hard as shell was awesome for all my cars even the very finicky frozen black xm I am a much better detailer and my cars are cleaner and protected because of jimbos products and mostly because of his patients and support to a new be like me true story .

I use Bilt Hamber products for a snow foam contactless wash then primarily Meguiars products after that.

The BH stuff I use is touchless, find it gets rid of a lot of the grit and grime easily without touching the body work. Also the amount you get it lasts forever it seems.

After that and a gentle contact wash I go around the car with the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic detailer. Lasts a good few weeks and if used regularly it appears to build layers which last longer. The deep shine you get from it also is second to none

My garage workbench looks similar to the above with respect to Griott's products, though not nearly as many or as organized. I really like the Bilt Hammer prewash and Traceless glass cleaner though.

I read some glowing reviews for Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant here in some threads and decided to give it a try. Never used it again because despite the beautiful shine, it attracted so much dust that it simply wasn't worth it for me.

I am back to using CarGuys Liquid Wax and very happy with that. In my simple routine I wash the car with ONR and distilled water. Then, without drying I apply the CG liquid wax and wipe - always a beautiful shine that lasts a few months between washes.
