Next gen G42 - G87?

Hello!

Do you think there will be some kind of G42 / G87 successor after this generation?

Or should we prepare to say goodbye, at least for a 2 coupé like the one we know?

I know, ynguldyn , you hate the words "dealer" and "said" used together in sentences, but... The dealer in Alexandria, VA said the MY2025 G05 X5 is the last production year ending in March of 2025 and from June there will be MY26 G65 X5. According to the first post, G05 will be produced until 07/26. If that's the fact, one should be ordered now. Otherwise, I should stop taking dealers' words seriously.

I have an order for i5 E40 scheduled for January production. Should I delay it for the updated changes for 2025 or it's so minor you won't bother?

Should’ve started with that from the beginning.

Perhaps. Or perhaps not. Yet, I need an answer and I don't have one yet. Do you know anything about the X5 switch to G65?

BMW never has production gaps for mainstream models.
BMW never starts new model production in Spartanburg in June.

How many spy shots and videos of the G45 were out there by fall '23? How many spy shots and videos of the G65 have we seen by now?

Would you have bought an iPhone 15 a month before the introduction of iPhone 16? If yes - don't bother. If no - ask them to postpone.

Good point but to be fair that is closer to buying a g30 just before the release of the g60? Or are u implying the difference is rly that huge?

Looks like the dealer is taking me for a proverbial ride. I'm saddened. Slightly.

The difference between 15 and 16 is not huge at all.

ynguldyn So no further LCI of G42/G87 in 2025, as previously speculated? The interior update was moved forward to MY2025?

I was really hoping for some nicer taillights/bumpers on the M2.

ynguldyn the top post of a G20 subforum thread https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1925840 says this:

Latest G2x info:
In production until 07/27 (G20) and 10/27 (G21)

But the top post of this thread (on this "Future BMW model Information" subforum) says this:

G20/G21 3er
In production until 10/26 (G20) and 02/27 (G21)

So which top post should be the latest info? This thread does not appear to have a recent post that mentions G20/G21 production EOP is moved up, but maybe there is.

Read this threads top post through the 2023 updates. The answer to your question is there.

I am looking ahead and debating BEV...

iX5 m70 vs ix7 m70

Are these going to arrive at approx. the same time ? I know you said the ix5 might not arrive until 2027 which aligns with the ix7 release.

How do you think the HP, range and features will compare ?

The speculations were correct. MY25 has been out since summer of 2024 with interior updates. For nicer taillights and bumpers: M3

Are you guys stuck in 2023 or did I travel to the future? The G8x LCI already happened last year and you're are still referring to it as though it's still coming.

I’m getting a bit concerned that the new 8 series allegedly starts production next summer but hasn’t been spotted even once.

I've seen rumors that it won't continue and will be replaced with a 6er revival. The fact that there aren't any spy shots might indicate that they're not going forward with a new 8er.

No test mules, no car. Probably both will not happen.
