Just in case anyone was thinking about using Harry & David to send someone a gift basket, STAY AWAY!!!

I have used them for many years to send all kinds of gift from Birthdays to Funerals. We have received many gifts baskets from them as well. It was always a great experience and the quality was great.

I am not going to go into the issue I had with them, other than to say they outsourced customer service and they can not even find your order in their system (so they said) and try to convince you everything is fine. I had to go to my credit card company to get a refund, they handled it immediately verse the run around H&D customer service put me through.

they were bought out a number of years ago and now part of a large conglomerate of companies and it's all gone down hill in the last year. If you look online you will see all the bad reviews in the last 12 months everyone is having the same experience. They obvious bought all these company eliminated all the common function to maximize profits, at the cost of a good product and customer service.

Here is the list of company now under the same umbrella you might want to steer clear of them as well, they all using a common website to place orders and get order status and all have the same customer service number.

1- 800 Flowers - used to use them all the time, off the list now too

Sorry to hear that; this was a great company 50 years ago, unique and high quality. Omaha Steaks was similar in that regard.

Agree. I used Harry and David for decades. Their web site is a hot mess and this year I gave up.

Nothing special anymore; now its just like several other online butchers. It was always a premium price product/service, but now it is harder to justify the premium.
