I got the vaccine a fews years back. Didn't bother me much. The Shingles virus looks worse that a couple of injections.

I was feeling a bit old on a cruise I just got back from, two weeks on a Seabourne cruise. Everywhere I looked, it was scars from knee replacements or open heart surgery. Bad thing was, my wife and I were one of the younger ones and my scar from my valve replacement is old enough not to be very noticeable for an 8" scar down my sternum.

Those mid-1970's Chevy station wagons had the third row seat facing backwards (like the kids are seated), and came with a strong warning about driving with the back window open because the aerodynamics was so poor that the exhaust was sucked into the cabin through the back window and retractable door.....

Ours was a 9 passenger (third seat facing backwards) 1958 Plymouth station wagon. My fellow cub scouts thought it "cool" to ride back there.

I used to climb in the "way back" and take a nap whenever we went anywhere. One night after going to a restaurant for an after-season team party, I waited at the back door for my step-father to unlock it for me. Imagine my surprise when they just drove off. I tried running after them, but... I went back into the restaurant and sat in the waiting area of The Hungry Fisherman in Stone Mountain, GA for them to come back. I must have looked quite pathetic. Took them about an hour to come back. They drove all the way home before realizing they were missing something.

I remember riding in the bed of a dark green ‘54 Ford pickup while my dad
sat up front with the owner/driver. I was about 5 years old. The truck bed
was wooden with about a 1 foot piece missing, so I could see the road
passing by. Riding in the back with me was a box of oranges. I shouldn’t
have to explain the rest of the story except to say the oranges spun so fast,
they flattened out while ejecting juice.
