Tighten starter bolts and the starter still wiggles 2010 E63 650i coup
Hello, I just replaced the transmission on my 650i when I bottom out the starter bolts the starter is still loose. I can wiggle it off of its mount. Is this normal?

You are either using the wrong bolts for the starter motor and / or you used the correct starter bolts somewhere else on the transmission bell-housing.

If you had your transmission housing, starter, mounts, and/or mounting bolts ceramic coated, you'll want to use a stronger wash or other chemicals to reduce or remove it. Alternatively , just go straight to using compound for removal.
Kidding aside, you posted in the detailing sub-forum and, like Dr Ferry said, it sounds like you used the wrong bolts. While I don't have a 6-series, I don't believe the starter should wiggle. It's worth confirming that the mounting hardware you used were the correct ones. If not, most bolts are fairly cheap (aside from those cursed underbody reinforcement plate bolts) but, once you remove the current bolts, I'd check to make sure the mount or housing threads are not damaged.
