M2 vs C8 Stingray....roll race

Has anyone roll raced a C8 Stingray?

I had a 21 SR and yeah it felt quick especially from a dig but the M2 definitely feels faster once it’s going.

I’ve owned 3 C8s (1 stingray and 2 Z06) but I’m definitely not a “corvette guy”.
No cut off jean shorts with loafers 👞 lol

That being said, I’d love to fuck with some of the vette guys around here because they all think they’re rocking USA Ferraris

The SR is going to get the M2 off the launch (if using launch control correctly), but the 5 overdrive gears in the Corvette make it hit a wall around 130.

There is a video of some testers running these two side by side in their testing & the SR won each time, but when they swapped drivers the 2nd driver in the M2 was much closer than the first. I always question these "tests" as who knows if they're driving them as hard as they can. In the example above I believe the first M2 driver didn't have the transmission in III but the Corvette driver had his car set up in track mode or something like that. At the end of the day, they're close enough that it comes down to driver.

I am a Corvette guy, but no jean shorts or New Balances, & I don't care for the C8 gen (any variant).

I drove a C8 on a track in Vegas last year. From a butt dyno perspective the G87 definitely feels like it builds speed faster 40 to 50MPH and up. I'm not really a Corvette fan- compared to my love for Euro cars- but I think the C8 is a heck of a performance car for the pricepoint.

The dipshits on U Drag are unwatchable

The C7 Z06(manual) is a freaking monster and I wish I had gotten one before the prices got insane

Yeah, that was the video. I do prefer the C7 Z06 to the C8s, but I think the C6 wide-body is a timeless design. My Callaway is putting down 600 whp, it's lighter, more raw, & extremely rare. It's a keeper.

The C8 SR is definitely a performance bargain, even moreso than the M2 with the steep discounts available. But you have crappy Chevy quality & worse Chevy service. I can do pretty much everything on my C6Z myself which is another huge plus.

490 rwhp vs ~430 (C8) so it's obvious which one wins a roll race - C8 gets off the line better of course

Not sure if I can over own a vette because of the stigma but the C8 Z06 is pretty nice. Transmission needs an early flush or they start developing problems

I think the DCT in the vette would help it but I still think thr M2 would win

A little ironic coming from a BMW owner . I stayed away from BMW for 40 cars before my 3-series because of the stigma & every BMW owner I knew fit the stereotype. What I've learned owning lots of different brands is there are d-bags that drive everyone, and there are great people that drive them as well. I just buy what I want & couldn't care less about what others think or who's faster.
