Question about a used 2024 M2

HI All,

I am kicking around some options if I decide not to wait around for my allocation and decide to buy an M2 off a dealer's lot.

My question is, if I found a 2024 M2 with 2,400 miles on it, I would still have the luxury of having the manufacturer's warranty, correct? Could I also purchase a BMW extended warranty as well? Please note the car is not being sold at a BMW dealership.

Thanks!

I didn't notice that was for certified sales, but from what I can see, at least factory warranty is transferable since that is tied to VIN and not an individual. Not sure about extended warranties though.

"BMW Warranty Program
New Vehicle/SAV Limited Warranty
Every new BMW is covered by a limited warranty for defects in materials or workmanship for the first three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty period begins either on the date of first retail sale, or the date the vehicle is first placed in service as a demonstrator, service loaner or company vehicle, whichever is earlier. And from that moment on, your BMW is protected during the coverage period, regardless of whether you're the first owner or a subsequent owner."

I’m not sure what your search radius is but this one’s in Oregon.

Waited almost 10 months for my car as I was unwilling to compromise on color and options.

In hindsight a great decision, I’m driving the car I wanted.

YMMV

I have two cars that are black…PA winters have ruined black cars for me.

You probably want to check the previous owner hasn't done anything to invalidate the warranty. Even running the LCI flash could have implication ( theres a whole thread on this in the tuning mods section).

I'm not in the US, but BMW allows us to do the extended warranty purchase thru the local dealers, as long as its before the 3 year factory warranty is up. Not limited to the first owner.

You have this option as well for warranty. Not BMW but there are good options available.

Not a bad idea, but I think everyone needs to just take a step back and see how this plays out. I know that's easy to say, but the biggest regret anyone can make IMO is to jump the gun and settle for second best only to regret it later. I hope you get your TP car later this year without having to pay anything more than you negotiated. You've been on the TP bandwagon for as long as I can remember, although you did waffle a bit at times. Good luck.

Hahaha…you don’t forget anything.

I agree with you. A big part of me believe this will settle down by the time my car goes into production (May) but if this uncertainty is still going on at that time then I will probably cancel it and get an M2 on a deal lot.

I have time but I tend to get into my own head and think the worst.
