I did the r44 version. Makes all the difference in the world. Went from having 2-3mm clearance on 275s to having plenty of clearance on 285s.

I found it interesting that his house, which appears to be very modern, huge, with a great garage and expensive cars looks out of place in the otherwise modest neighborhood.

Okay, I need to look into this. I would prefer trying 285s in the front, but didn't want to deal with the rubbing.

But if you have no issues and you've got 10" (I think?) wide wheels on 285's and they're okay, I may consider doing this!

Yup 0 issue now plenty of clearance on the 19x10 +11 285/35/19. The 275 on the same wheel barely missed rubbing before the r44 kit.

I'm running 285/35s on 19x9.5+5s. I went with the very expensive IND "enhanced clearance front liners," because back in 5/24 when I got my wheels there weren't other options, and I'm still getting a little rubbing. It's actually rubbing on the ridge on the liner near the opening, not on the mesh. I tried to bend it with a heat gun before to no avail. I may have to just cut that area out.

a little road trip

Took the M2 on a day trip yesterday - 668 miles. 26mpg average, not too bad.

Still on stock suspension, the M2 made for an enjoyable cruiser. Was no more fatigued from this trip than in others of similar distance and duration. Working on figuring out a conservative lowering strategy that won't change that...

Got to enjoy part of the scenic US 71 loop as well. https://www.arkansas.com/scenic-71-loop

Very nice drive, nice views - no pics, unfortunately. Solo journey didn't help with that.

I think I may have learned a little something about ACC - BMW seems to want to dissuade us from using the turn signal. At least on my car as I recall experiencing it, engaging the turn signal while ACC is actively reducing speed due a vehicle ahead caused the system to accelerate back to the set speed. I looked back at the Owner's Manual and still can't seem to find any reference to this behavior. Just a word of warning... will probably cross-post in the "discover" thread once I reproduce this behavior...

We drive BMWs - we’re not SUPPOSED to use the turn-signal.

This doesn’t make sense how you wrote it.
I mean if you’re signaling to change lanes because someone is slow ACC would already be slowing. And when you get in the other lane it should speed back up once you’re centered.

It didn't make sense the way recall experiencing it at the time, either!
I will need to try to repeat this and make sure it wasn't "operator error"...
