How long were you sitting in Ready for Transport? I have a feeling I may have at least a few more weeks to wait until it’s on a ship. |

It is really sad how a technology company like BMW can know exactly where every car is, but not have the customer interface updated to reflect that. They write the interface so that it looks great and has 16 steps so the expectations from customers are high about tracking their cars, but they don't update it, so expectations are not met. Fail.

We'll see if I got bamboozled by the tracker depending on how long it sits in 195 for. Honestly, no tracker is better than a bad tracker. |

If you get what are called individual colors, that can add a significant amount of time to the build however, since they group together a number of cars with the same color to be produced at the same time. After a car is built, it can then take 1-2 months for it to be delivered typically, depending on where you are located. |

Same thing happened to me today. Last night it was ready for transport. This morning my app showed 'at the port' then by the afternoon it showed in transit. Where are you seeing that you're on the Tanabata?

When you call BMW Genius and they tell you your production week. Is that the week that the car is supposed to finish production, or the week the car is supposed to begin production?
I’ve heard it both ways from the forums, and different BMW genius agents have also told it to me both ways. Not sure what’s right… |

I went into RFT on Jan 18. My CA reports today that his system shows the car is still at port of exit. He said will provide ship name/number once it boards ship and/or sets sail.

![]() I also found out the car I'm selling/trading in has a nail in the right-rear tread, and it's not patchable. So I get to spend a few Benjis slapping new rubber on the dang thing before having it valued. ![]() Waiting to hear from my SA about a boat name. I'll get it in the morning when I pick up said lame-duck car that needs a couple of new shoes ...

I called my CA after it already flipped to 195 and he told me that the car is at the US port... However, he's given me unreliable information before (and seems to think my car came from Germany), so I'm not too sure how much I hold him to his word. Regardless, hopefully I can take delivery next week. |

Status 195 happened 2/7am (as I noted previously) but it was a 'virtual' 195, in Veracruz. IOW: at the time, car was waiting to be loaded onto a boat. The boat info only becomes available once the car is actually onboard and is, officially, part of the cargo. Should have the boat name Monday. Verified Port of Entry for my car is Galveston (figured that already): A two-day voyage from Veracruz once underway, but no telling how long the boat might need to wait to dock. I doubt our cars are on the same boat, AusChA ... but note that there are two shifts to 195: One at the Port of Exit (Mexico), and another at the Port of Entry. I'm noting that because it sounds very likely that your CA is mistaken about it being at the Port of Entry (i.e., the U.S.). Even though I have no port accessories to be installed in Galveston, the CA said I was still 2-3 weeks away from taking delivery, which makes sense: car still needs to be offloaded, clear customs, obtain a carrier assignment, make it to the dealer, be prepped by the dealer, etc.

I'm in NJ, so it would be incredibly strange if they shipped it anywhere other than Bayonne. I was a bit optimistic thanks to this post in the G20 forum. Quote:
EDIT: I've received confirmation that my car is currently on the boat. I'm on the RCC Antwerp, bound for Bayonne. CA's info screenshot is showing me an arrives-at-VPC date of 18 February, but I see the boat is already in Brunswick, GA. Surely it won't take that long, right...? AusChA Verified my car's on the Arc Resolve, still at PoE in Veracr--
EDIT: Nope, check that: Altamira. Vessel left about 8pm CST; Due in Galveston on Wednesday 2/12. It departed Veracruz on 2/9 (probably with my M2 on it) and docked at Altamira early today. The vessel's got two port calls in Galveston, per the WalWil site; figure the second one, Thur 2/13, is for RoRo cargo offloading. Yah, my built-to-order 718 Cayman (in Zuffenhausen, no less) took 4 months in 2017, and the F22 I had before that, built in Leipzig like your Macan, took about the same amount of time. The boat tracking for both, however, was excruciating. At least, coming from Mexico, that part of 'The Wait' is relatively bearable, hehe.

That's a standard color, it should not take that long. I would guess it means they don't have allocations for a few months. Did you ask them if they had allocations?
Right now they should have allocations for March ideally, or if those are used up they will get new ones last week of the month for April (if they do enough volume). If they're a low volume dealer they may not get allocations every month, hence the long wait. Depending on your market, I'd check other dealers for someone who has an allocation ready to go, and that means they can give you an order number on the spot. |
