There is no ICE version yet. It's coming but not until much later this year. And it's AWD only, and I6 only.

I saw the new Charger around Detroit over the last year. Really boring and no presence. In fact, it already looks dated and frumpy. Add EV to the mix and it is a HUGE swing and miss by Dodge. Give me another M6 (in addition to the 4 I have) all day long over the new Charger.

Weight. It's nearly 6000 pounds. That's more than an F150, Expedition, X5, X7, etc etc etc. It's insanely heavy, it's 1500 pounds heavier than the V8 4 door charger, and this one is a 2 door!

I think the ICE model will be too expensive and doomed. Maybe if there's a base 3.6L V6 model coming too, but how many people that want an AWD I6 vehicle are gonna buy buy a DODGE? It's not like you're gonna convert 440i and 540i buyers over to Dodge, the leases aren't cheap enough and the brand snobbery won't let it happen. The people who used to buy V8 Dodges aren't gonna be happy with the I6 - look at the sales flop of the new Ram for proof.
Yeah the ICE model's success will depend on price. The current V6s are so successful because they are cheap was to get into a 300hp vehicle that looks as mean as the V8 version.

Stellantis is trying to move this car upmarket and it won't pan out well for them. Sure the new one has a more refined engine, way nicer interior, good looks, etc. But still nobody is going to pay BMW or Mercedes prices for it. Those companies have the brand cache and leasing game down to a tee, Dodge can't compete with that.

I was pretty excited by the HiPo ICE version when I first saw it. A 550 HP straight six! Then I saw the size. Longer than my previous Taurus SHO. And that thing was big.

As far as the EV version, is there a better looking EV? Eye of the beholder.

I hope they do well with both of them.

Lots of people will pay it (I agree it's overpriced) just like lots of people paid over $100k for a Hellcat and paid dumb $ for the last gen Scat.

Those were desirable though. They had big loud V8s that sounded great and were super reliable (well, less so on the 392s). The scat packs aren't that expensive before Stellantis got greedy during COVID either. Low 40s got you into a pretty decent car with nearly 500hp.

I still don't understand why people are giving Stellantis the time of day any more.
They have clearly shown thier true colors.
Dodge is not dodge anymore.
Red blooded American muscle for cheap, not any more.

Tavares single handedly has brought Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Chrysler to the brink of death.

I sure don't get this car. It's true Stellantis doesn't know who their target market is, but this thing is a horrible performance value. To get 670 HP you have to get the Scat pack which is going to be $80k + tax. Even at a huge discount it's a horrible value.

My car can match its performance figures with nothing but a JB4 and it was $55k OTD. And it's not a 6k lb boat. Even the basic model with 400 hp is $60k + tax. And that's less than 300 hp in BMW numbers.

There's a certain target market that would buy it anyway because it's a Dodge, but being an EV almost entirely eliminates that target market.

You can buy a used Tesla Plaid for $60k that will run away from the Dodge and virtually every production car on the road (except the Lucid Air Sapphire). Has more range than the Dodge as well. But that is comparing used to new and some want only new.

A $50-80k used F90 M5 will walk away from the Dodge, if you want ICE. There are a handful of other cars in the same category and price, but admittedly used.

Charger EV is going to go down as one of the worst failures in automotive history. The Edsel is going to no longer be the posted child for automotive failure, it's going to be Charger EV.
