Buying used vehicle (almost new car) MARKS
A friend is looking at a used M2 G87 with 1500 miles on it.
Is it normal for it to have such markings (or has been anything been repaired yet)? I think yes, because after watching the videos on YouTube they also have some tags. |

Attached is a picture from my own engine bay showing similar markings from the factory.

All common.
Bolts are marked to make sure they have been tightened. Also marked so that you can tell immediately if the bolt/nut has been moved during service.

My question would be how did the car with 1500 miles end up on the used car lot? Any signs of wrenching on the hood or trunk hinge hardware? On the strut bolts? Engine mounting bolts/hardware? IOWs, any signs of wrenching on any fastener hardware? Has the car had its 1200 mile break in service? Does the car come with the remainder of the factory new car warranty? |
