Yeah, not an apples to apples comparison when the costs are vastly different.

I drive with the shocks at 9 clicks on the street. It’s pretty firm. The Ohlins do a nice job over small bumps not being to firm. But I’d say much stiffer under harsh bumps. When I had the HAS though it felt similar but would unload the back end over big bumps. I also had the car lowered about 1.5”/1.25”, so that really impacted the effectiveness of the stock shocks and the overall suspension travel. I’m not sure how much the Eibach lowers and how much more spring rate it adds. I think anything over an inch lowered with a HAS kit hurts the performance.

For me, I’m weighing track use heavier than street comfort so it works well. For street use with none or maybe a track day here or there, Ohlins probably isn’t the best option unless you are really going for that minimal fender gap look and want to keep good suspension travel.

They are just shaped for the OE top mounts. The rate is 100 N/mm, not progressive.

PM if you have more specific questions regarding the Ohlins R&T or want a quote.

Thanks to the OP for this thread. Definitely helped me in choosing coilovers over the HAS kit. If I am going to change out the stock suspension setup, I want a marked difference. Now to the decision of choosing a coilover.

Quick question for this suspension did it require the edc cancellation kit so there’s no codes ? Looking to buy this same coil over kit just want to check if it causes any error codes ?

You either need the cancellation kit or code it out. It will throw codes otherwise.

Have you noticed any major track time improvements with this setup?

I’m no longer tracking the car. My son bought the car from me and I’m now focusing on the OG F87.

But there are a few things to consider.

1. You need camber plates one way or another. To me it doesn’t make a lot of sense to do that with stock suspension.

2. The HAS wasn’t a good move with stock shocks. Car just didn’t have enough travel

3. The car was quicker. One of the main things for me was consistency and ease. With the Ohlins car control is way more predictable. The back end is more planted. When making adjustments (ie correcting mistakes) the back end is more forgiving. Whereas with the HAS the car tended to porpoise a bit under load the Ohlins absorbs.

I hope that helps.

Basically for me Ohlins was a great investment. My only regret was going HAS. If you plan to track the car more than a couple times a year and are considering some tires it’s well worth it.

Actually one afterthought. One thing I noticed was better tire wear across the full width of the tire. My thoughts are that same porpoising feeling probably impacts tire wear.

Maybe the fact that MPHAS is now a @2,700 option or some shit?

MPHAS is not cheap on the 2025s.
