Shop having difficulty getting SSG match
I am having my CF MP style spoiler paint matched.
Left the car at the body shop all day for them to try to get a good match. They don't feel they quite got it. They are a reputible restoration shop that came highly recommended. I am frustrated they couldn't get it right but thankful they are willing to admit they don't quite have the match perfect. They are having the PPG rep come out next week to make the match. Anyone else had this problem with skyscraper? |

So paint shop rep came out and advised on a different mix. Came out just a bit too blue. Body shop owner says he won't installmit until it is right.
Next step today is he will take my OEM spoiler to the paint shop and he and the paint shop guru and the PPG rep will work on the mix. They are going to use a different base for the paint because our paint locally is typically solvent based and BMW uses a water base. He will let me know today if he feels it is a good match. Bonus: some pics of my no spoiler look attached No idea why some pics I upload are rotated |
