Ironic that you ask. Haven’t driven the M2 much with the snow, salt and cold. But in the midst I got a chance to drive and wash. First handwash found a flaw in the grill area w the PPF. It looked stretched so tight around a corner that the PPF pulled away. Called the PPF shop and they’re redoing the whole front bumper.
Shop owner told me the M2 front grill / bumper is the toughest to wrap thus they have to make a couple of minor but noticeable cuts. So yes, I’ve noticed the minor flaws but I’m probably the only one that ever will … except the shop. |

I had XPEL Ultimate Fusion installed up to the A pillar. My car is black. I really only see seams when I grab a flashlight and look or when the car is really dirty/salty like it is today. Even today I had to grab a flashlight to see the seams. Mine is cut like JABCAT's above.

Has anyone tried the Suntek one piece ppf for the bumper? Thoughts/pics?
I see rone92 has it. Will have to go look at his pics more closely. Last edited by SpaceGhost; 02-04-2025 at 02:07 AM.. |

My installer is in communication with Xpel HQ here in San Antonio. He is also looking to see if he can obtain templates for Llumar or Suntek. Supposed to call me on Wednesday.

I did the best I could. There is somewhat of a smaller seam down on the lower part. The part where the grille is actually is interlocking, it's not just straight.
Really wild how this went together. As difficult as this was, he said the rear bumper was even more difficult. |

While yours looks good, I was really hoping it was a true one piece solution. The seams on mine just look so obvious. This is my toy car and will probably only see 3-5k per year in mileage. I am considering going naked but San Antonio roads are perpetually under construction and their orders of business seems to be: 1. Put up cones/and barrels 2. Grate or otherwise mar the existing road surface 3. Spread fine gravel everywhere (and repeat this frequently) 4. Wait a year or so and then start work 5. Give public a 2 or 3 year estimate of completion 6. Complete work in 5 to 7 years. Makes ppf a bit more necessary so I hate to go naked but I just don't want to look at the front of my car and immediatly notice the ppf. It is invisible on my other cars and past cars. Sadly I may not have a seamless option. Thanks for your photos Ron. Your car looks great! |

Thanks for the pictures. Really appreciate it. The joins look much better lower down. I’ll send pics to installer and see what their preference is. Ultimately I think I need to go with what they are most comfortable working with.
Everyone had their headlights done? Assume you can’t tell unless you look for the edges ? |

The xpel has been installed. I think they did a fantastic job. I maybe can see a fingerprint or 2 under a torch on the gloss plastic but will reserve judgement on those sections until I see in the sun. Maybe some heat will get rid of those or its just a bit of moisture as they said it takes around a month in this weather to fully dry.
I can barely see the joins either side of the grill and the finish on the paint looks perfect. Almost seems to enhance the gloss. I have 1 bubble around the badge but they said leave for a couple of weeks and pop back if any of it needs an adjustments. They did say they spent much longer on it than usual as was very tricky install.. Had 3 of them on it at some points I’ve taken loads of pics which hopefully will help others making the same decision in future EDIT - 8 won't upload? Any tips? Tried the app, desktop etc -got it working, other pics a few posts down Last edited by Winrya; 02-12-2025 at 02:10 PM.. |

Yours looks better than mine for sure. I am going in next week to have them remove mine. I found another detail/ppf installer that has Suntek. They have good reviews and have done a couple M2s already. We will see if they can give me a better looking solution. Thanks for posting your pics. Can you post pics of the seams? Does your ppf snug up to the black part of the grills or is paint left exposed? Thanks |
