BMW Back Up Cam

This isn’t just for the two series. This is for all modern BMWs with the new screen, has anyone noticed that the backup camera is completely pitch black when you go in reverse at night and it takes like 10 seconds before it even fixes the exposure I’ve never had a car with a back up camera that’s completely black for 10 seconds. Seems fine on our 2023, shows the right exposure immediately. Strong light sources hitting the sensors on the front or back of the rear view mirror or things such as parking tags obscuring them may cause problems, though, as dimming functions are generally controlled by those sensors.

I have a ‘24 M2 and my exposure is also correct right away. I have dark tint so would be really annoying to wait 10 seconds.

I have a 2025 M2 and it does not have this problem. My only complaint is that it seems a bit low res, but maybe that's because the screen is so much bigger than in my previous iDrive 7.5 equipped bimmer.

Sorry for OT...is that your 3kgt? Is it a VR4. Have always wanted one. Almost bought one but couldn't find a shop near me that was comfortable working on it. Even the dealer said they don't have the skills...
