As a first time BMW and sports car owner, I wanted to get the most protection possible. I had full body Xpel PPF Ultimate Plus and topped that with Xpel Fushion Plus ceramic. Interior Xpel PPF kit to be installed when templates becomes available. The Interior display panel is coated with Xpel PPF. Fingerprints are much less noticeable.

Full front Xpel Ultimate Plus including headlights.

Has anyone used a DIY ceramic coating over their Xpel U+ PPF? Just asking for opinions if it was worth it and what coating you used?

Full hood, full front bumper, kidneys, and headlights.

I ceramic coated the car using cquartz uk. I think it was worth it, after a year the water still beads nicely and it seems to stay clean longer. I am going to use an Ethos spray on graphene coating this spring, https://ethoscarcare.com/products/re...37688363843755

This is after over 1 year of doing the coating.

Never felt beading is a sign of well protected car. Water sheeting shows better hydrophobic properties meaning dirt doesn’t pool on the car.
However, a morning cover of dew should look more like this (but at 90 degrees lol :

Agreed, that was a foggy night if i recall correctly, not rain, so same principle as dew. Or light rain

But I would prefer beads of water over a sheet of stagnant water resting on the paint.

Beads of water sit, like on my photo. The wax is just repelling the water.

Sheets of water run off. The water doesn’t stagnate on the car. One reason sheeting is a better result.

Not in all cases. If the surface is relatively flat and the paint is not causing the water to bead, it will accumulate until gravity wants to let some go.

I’m not sure you are understanding. Google is your friend.

You implied that a sheet of stagnant water runs off of a car. My argument is that I'd rather small beads of water resting on the paint than a sheet of stagnant water. So no need to be condescending, chief, be more clear with what you are stating.

I didn’t say anything about stagnant water chief. You brought that to the party.

“Sheets of water run off. The water doesn’t stagnate on the car. One reason sheeting is a better result.”

A sheet of water is synonymous with stagnant water in my eyes, champ.
