Looks good. How did you order it? Is it just their standard knob done in carbon fiber and alcantara?

I emailed them and asked them what if this is something they could do. They said they could make it happen. They were extremely helpful and great to work with. I had a few different ways I could configure it. Ultimately, I went with a leather boot vs alcantara and the M colors in a straight stitch.

I went with the same combo. Thank you so much for your post with photos! When I saw it I realized that's what I need. I don't have any CF in the interior yet this knob fits so well into the overall look. I tried the aluminum one first but though I liked the shift feel the look felt off. Also it didn't have any boot attachments which made boot top sliding slightly.

I just ordered the cf f87 knob with the boot attached from ECS (~$300 with shipping). Accurately detached f87 boot from the knob (same for the original one), mated g87 boot with new m performance knob and applied 3m plastic weld to hold it together. Once it dried boot and the knob were inseparable and had that OEM quality look and fitment.

The knob is secured to the shaft by a built-in press-fit plastic collar, the bottom of the knob itself has 2 plastic rectangular posts and 1 clip, the plastic post are fitted to the boot and the factory uses plastic weld or adhesive. Need to clean the excess adhesive/plastic from the underside of the boot to free the existing knob.

Then fit the replacement knob over the boot collar, line it up and tap the knob home, the channel at the top of the shifter mates to an index piece inside the knob so it won't twist.

You can also put some adhesive over the part where the factory plastic weld the 2 rectangular posts, that's optional. Once fitted, the boot and knob will not separate.

how are you guys cleaning the factory adhesive to loose the knobs and get the pick in to loosen the tab

I used a micro flathead for leverage and also an exacto blade to clean off the excess plastic weld, the tab is only retained by tension. Takes a bit of patience/time to make it clean. Try not to rush and tear into the 2 plastic posts.

Changing out the shift knob to the f87 theres a little rattle when accelerating around 3/4k coming from the shifter. Anyone have been experiencing that?
Also have the Rouge SSK and bushing.
