Is 2026 (this year’s upcoming model) the year of CS and separately Xdrive for the regular M2 or are they saving Xdrive for 2027?

Thanks for posting these kinds of details and content here hb. Gives me hope that BMW has its fingers on the pulse of those of us that still place a manual transmission as a premium option.

I also wanted to publicly thank you for your contributions in helping me to decide a 1 M was a desired necessity for me.

I'm sure you don't recall, but I met you back in June of 2011 at the Munich Airport ED drop-off location (Login/Logout, or something like that) as you were returning from ED of your 1 M. I happened to be dropping off my E91 at the same time and you took about 10 minutes of your time to answer my questions of your impression of it.

To make a long story short one fell in my lap about a year later and almost 13 years later it's been a blessing and sheer delight to drive every time I start it up.

Anyway, I hope you continue to find time to appreciate it even though you've added a Porsche to your stable.

Here is a picture that commemorates our meeting in Munich, and another of the fruits of your impressions of it on me.

Apologies for the threadjack, and 1 M gratuitous group hug.

WOW! That is a small world. Of course I remember. The whole trip is still so fresh in my memory. One of the best trips I've ever done. Glad to see you got the 1M also, such a great car. Every few years or so I debate whether I should sell it and get something else, like the new M2 CS, then I wake up

Might not be the best looking car or the most fun to drive, but there is something about it that makes it special. Hard to explain. Love seeing my car in that photo

This is why I added the Cayman GTS 4.0, it's somewhat along the same lines, arguably better

Saw you were debating getting rid of the 1M and replacing it with the F87 CS. Don't do it!

The idea was to get the G87 M2 CS. But will wait...never know what the future brings.

Or do the unthinkable: Sell 1M + GTS, get GT3? Some say do it, others say the combo I have is better. In the end, I like small, raw cars.

[QUOTE=WWM3;31890102]If I'm ordering a G87 CS, I'm checking the CCB box for a variety of reasons. I was very glad I did so with my F87 CS as they definitely contributed to a better resale value vs the equivalent non-CCB car. But I can understand why the cost vs. benefit doesn't work for a lot of people.

Interesting as I reached the opposite conclusion, I wouldn’t spec them again. They’re expensive, weren’t desirable on resale and quickly need to be replaced if you track the car or drive it hard. My car had done just over 35k miles and had less than 40k miles left on the pads according to the display.

CCBs are very desirable on resale for the F80 CS and F87 CS (especially). I wholeheartedly disagree that they need to be quickly replaced if you drive the car hard. You’re complaining that the pads have to be replaced after 75k miles or so? That’s quickly? I get that they aren’t for everyone, but I don’t agree here.
