G87 M2 Track "Build"
Hey guys, did a similar thread for my old M2C over 5 years ago. Felt like I might as well do a thread for my G87. The car is an MT Carbon pack car/lightest spec possible(Maybe besides paint?). Custom ordered in Frozen Portimao 2.
Exercised more restraint in the modification department as far as the powertrain, as that was the source of a lot of headaches on the M2C, though runs reliably for the current owner. Keeping the powertrain warranty for now. Unlike the F87 M2C, this car was pretty dialed in from the factory for track use. My only real qualm is the brake-by-wire system, but I got used to it. All work is done by Trackspec Autosports in Fremont. Cannot recommend them enough. Brakes: Stock for now Suspension: MCS 2WNR Racewerkz street/light track spring rates Entire SPL parts catalog for kinematics/geometry Corner balanced at 3620 lbs with 6/10 fuel tank/no driver Wheels: Apex ML10RT 19x10 Brushed Clear on A052 275/35/19 tires Drivetrain: CDV delete BMS clutch stop Engine: Catback titanium valvetronic exhaust(TI tips) Interior: LCK Bolster protectors CAE Shifter with DSSR(Anodized black with POM knob) Exterior: Adro grille IND painted front reflectors IND honeycomb rear reflectors Full body XPEL Stealth Overall, very happy with this car so far. As I posted in a different thread, it feels like a significantly smaller/swb GT350R with a quick rack and better chassis dynamics, rather than a bigger F87/E82. I think that's high praise, but it depends on what you want from the car. This car is happiest at 10-11/10ths. I will attach more photos of the modified car next week. To be honest, the difference is marginal as far as break-away characteristics. It has less push/more grip for sure, but that is definitely due to the suspension upgrades and also going from PS4S to A052 tires. I think messing with spring rates or maybe a front sway worst case will get the loose characteristics I desire, but going from 285 to 275 rear doesn't seem to do too much.

Also, to be real, I don't think this car will ever replicate the characteristics of the F87 M2C/CS because the S55's power delivery is so spiky compared to the S58's, which is far more linear and has less torque. Trying to replicate it will require modifying the engine, which is a whole other can of worms.
